The Interview Process

The interviews for 2012 are January 22-24 and February 26-28.

Specific information will also be posted for each IDP interview date.  This will be a private web-page, and the URL will be provided to you during the week before your interview.

Travel Arrangements

If you will be flying, we will send you a confirmation number for an e-ticket.  Be sure to bring your driver’s license or other form of picture ID to the airport, and arrive at the airport early enough to go through security screening.

Accommodations

Hotel: Visitors from out of town will be staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites in downtown Gainesville, which is located at 101 S.E. 1st Avenue.  Reservations will be made for you by Ms. Cloud-Driver.  Hotel contact information:    Phone (352) 240-9300;  Fax (352) 240-9368;  Map

Transportation: Students arriving at the Gainesville airport will be greeted by a member of the IDP Admissions Committee and driven to the hotel by the faculty member or by a courtesy van.  If for any reason nobody is there to meet your flight (e.g., your flight is very late), please take a taxi to the hotel and get a receipt for reimbursement.  Most students traveling by air will be departing on Tuesday, and transportation to the airport will be provided by van departing from the Health Science Center at 3:30 pm.  Please be ready to leave at the designated time.

Meals: Meals will be provided Sunday evening through Tuesday lunch.

Hotel Check-out: Please allow yourself sufficient time on Tuesday morning to have breakfast at the hotel, check out, and board the shuttle bus with your luggage by 8:30 am.  You will leave your luggage with the Office of Graduate Education.


Sunday

Arrive in Gainesville, ideally by 5:00 p.m.

Student Reception – Current students will host a dinner for interviewees at Harry’s, which is across the street from the hotel. Please meet the IDP students in the hotel lobby at 6:45pm.
