Graduate Fellowships for Outstanding Research |

The "Graduate Fellowships for Outstanding Research" are awarded to up to three IDP students each year to recognize outstanding progress in their graduate training and thesis research. The awards consist of one-time cash awards of $2,500 each.
Qualifications:
1. Nominees must have passed their qualifying exam and be Ph.D. candidates.
2. Nominees must not have been a previous recipient of a Graduate Fellowship for Outstanding Research award.
Nominations and Judging:
1. Students are nominated early in the Summer semester of their third or later year of graduate study by their faculty mentor.
2. The nominee’s mentor must submit a letter (addressed to Wayne T. McCormack, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Graduate Education) describing the student's outstanding research accomplishments.
3. Supporting documents will include:
a. UF transcript for IDP graduate studies (required)
b. Copies of abstracts presented at national or
international meetings
c. Reprints of first-author publications in peer-reviewed
journals
d. Copy of pre-doctoral fellowship award notices
e. Other evidence of outstanding research accomplishments
5. Nominations for 2008 should be delivered to Susan Gardner, Office of Graduate Education, Room R1-102, by Monday, June 30, 2008.
Criteria for Judging:
1. Overall academic performance.
2. Evidence of superior student research performance, such as:
a. Presentation of original research at national or
international meetings
b. First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals
c. Extramural Pre-doctoral fellowship grants awarded
Announcement of Awardees:
New awards will be announced at the welcome reception for new graduate students, which is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, August 20th, 4:00-5:00 pm in the ARB Founders Gallery.
